What can you expect during hypnotherapy?
Before I undertake any course of hypnotherapy with a new client I always spend some time assessing their needs over the phone or face-to-face. During this initial assessment, we will talk clearly and openly about why you are seeking support and what you would like to achieve. I will also answer any questions or concerns that you might have.
I don’t charge for this initial assessment, viewing it as a great way for us to start to get to know each other and help us get off to the best possible start. If we agree we continue with our intake interview or we make an appointment for your first session.
The therapy starts with an intake interview. We will extensively discuss what you struggle with and what you think you need help with. What do you want to work on? What do you want to achieve? The answer to these questions is our starting point. If you agree on the route to be followed with a treatment plan we can start with the therapy. If it feels good for both of us, you will be introduced to hypnosis and the process will be thoroughly explained.
There is room to ask questions about the therapy, the method of working, etc. The goal is to uncover the best route of therapy tailored towards your own specific needs

How do sessions work?
How do sessions work?
The number of sessions you will need will depend on your individual situation. The treatment frequency depends on the nature of the complaint. An average session lasts approximately 1.5 hours including a preliminary and follow-up discussion. The techniques used in therapy are always explained and discussed.
Appointments are usually made once a week in the beginning of the therapy and after a few sessions the frequency can change to once every two weeks to once every month.
Everything discussed during the therapy is strictly confidential in accordance with the code of ethics. Mutual trust and respect are important for successful therapy. That means that there is an equal relationship between you and the therapist. Everyone is responsible and must feel safe in the therapy space.
